Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West's men's soccer team picked up another win against Irvine Valley on Wednesday afternoon. The Rustler men's soccer team is now ranked No. 1 in the Orange Empire Conference, with 5 wins under their belt, the team remains undefeated in conference play.
The Rustlers found the net twice in this intense match up of teams. It was a physical game, and the score was 1-1 for most of the first and second half, but Golden West wanted more. Finding the goal late in the first half was Freshman, Jamie Rios (Lake Forest, CA/Laguna Hills HS) assisted by Cesar Cruz-Martinez (Santa Ana, CA/Foothill HS). It was 35 minutes later that David Hernandez (Santa Ana, CA/Anaheim HS) scored what would be the game winning goal for Golden West; assisted by Adres Perez (Westminster, CA/Westminster HS).
Golden West (8-1-2, 5-0) heads to Cypress (4-4-3, 1-3) Friday, October 12 at 3:00pm.
