Four Rustlers Named to All-OEC Squads

Huntington Beach, Calif. — The Golden West College Rustlers Men's Soccer Team is celebrating a remarkable achievement with four of its standout players earning spots on the 2024 All-Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Teams. Sophomore Arnold Ramirez and freshman Jorge Orozco were named to the First Team, while freshmen Yasir Duque and Jad Othman secured Second Team honors.

The Rustlers finished the season with a 5-10-5 overall record and a competitive 5-5-4 conference mark. 

First Team Honorees

Arnold Ramirez (Sophomore, Position: Midfielder):
A consistent presence in 14 matches this season, Ramirez contributed on both ends of the field with 13 starts, 2 assists, and 7 key shots. His vision and ability to control the midfield were crucial in setting up scoring opportunities and maintaining possession.

Jorge Orozco (Freshman, Position: Forward/Left Wing):
Orozco's attacking prowess was unmatched, leading the Rustlers with 8 goals and 2 assists in 19 games. His .348 shot percentage and 4 goals in conference play solidified his reputation as a relentless scorer and a dynamic offensive threat.

Second Team Honorees

Yasir Duque (Freshman, Position: Forward/Outside Back):
Duque made a significant impact in his 19 appearances, contributing 2 goals and demonstrating versatility in both offensive and defensive roles. His .583 shots-on-goal percentage highlighted his precision and ability to create scoring chances.

Jad Othman (Freshman, Position: Centerback):
As a defensive anchor, Othman started 15 matches and recorded 2 goals and 2 assists. His .500 shot accuracy underscored his efficiency in converting set pieces and defensive stability in high-pressure situations.
