Lewis Finished 5th in the 10K Run
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Golden West College men's track and field team competed at the Orange Empire Conference Championships on Friday, April 24, hosted by Riverside City College, highlighted by a top-five finish in the distance events and solid efforts in the throws.
Freshman Alejandro Lewis led the Rustlers with a strong performance in the 10,000 meters, placing 5th overall with a time of 35:49.46. Lewis' effort marked one of the top distance finishes for Golden West at the conference meet and demonstrated his endurance and consistency over the grueling 25-lap race.
In the field events, Golden West saw contributions in the shot put, as Roberto Miranda placed 13th with a throw of 11.65 meters, while Mason Laano followed closely in 14th place with a mark of 11.32 meters.
Lewis now qualified for the SoCal regionals at Bakersfield College next Friday May 2nd.
