Successful Day Two as Rustlers Finish 3rd in 200yd Medley Relay

Mission Viejo, CA – Day two of the Orange Empire Conference Championships at Saddleback College saw the Golden West College women's swim team deliver several standout performances, highlighted by finals appearances, time drops, and a podium finish. The Rustlers continued to build momentum as they head into the final day of competition.

Golden West opened the day with a 3rd-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking a time of 2:13.09. The team of Hanna Menyhart (backstroke), Zoe Esquivel (breaststroke), Nathalia Johnston (butterfly), and Sophie Kresge (freestyle) swam solid legs to secure 32 crucial team points.

400 Yard Individual Medley – Nathalia Johnston

Final Time: 6:03.71
Place: 11th overall (B Final)
Johnston dropped nearly four seconds from her prelim time and earned key points with a strong back-half finish.

100 Yard Butterfly – Catherine Le

Final Time: 1:14.49
Place: 5th in A Final
Le continued her impressive spring season with a top-five finish, scoring 14 points in the process.
Monet Panter qualified for the A final as well, but was disqualified during the race due to a turn infraction. Despite the setback, her prelim time of 1:19.54 was a personal best.

200 Yard Freestyle – Sophie Kresge

Final Time: 2:24.79
Place: 10th overall (B Final)
Kresge made a solid move up the rankings from prelims and grabbed 7 team points with a consistent swim.

100 Yard Breaststroke – Zoe Esquivel

Final Time: 1:19.78
Place: 9th overall (B Final)
Esquivel posted a strong swim in the B Final, leading the heat and contributing 9 points.

100 Yard Backstroke – Hanna Menyhart

Final Time: 1:07.32
Place: 5th in A Final
Menyhart delivered one of Golden West's best performances of the day, nearly matching her season best to finish in the top five.

The final day has one relay and seven individual events to be contested. Action continues at Saddleback College with prelims starting at 9:30 am and finals commencing at 3:00 pm.
