Pereyda Leads Rustlers at Orange Empire Conference Championships
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – The Golden West College women's cross country team closed out the regular season at the Orange Empire Conference Championships on Friday morning, hosted by Saddleback College at the picturesque Saddleback course in Mission Viejo.
Sophomore Lowyn Pereyda continued her standout season with a top-five finish, placing fourth overall in a time of 19:02.3 to pace the Rustlers in a highly competitive conference field. Pereyda, who has consistently led Golden West throughout the fall, finished just 47 seconds behind the race winner, Orange Coast's Jocelyn Alba (18:15.5). With her fourth place finish, Pereyda qualifies for the SoCal Regional Championships held on Friday, November 7th at NTC Park in San Diego.
Freshman Hannah Prieto rounded out the Rustler contingent, placing 26th with a time of 24:35.5.
