Golden West College men’s water polo head coach Scott Taylor announced the addition of Jason O'Donnell to the Rustlers coaching staff for the 2026 season.
O'Donnell joins Golden West following an accomplished collegiate and international playing career. He began his collegiate career at Mount St. Mary’s University, where he quickly emerged as one of the nation’s top performers. During the 2020–21 season, O'Donnell earned MAWPC Rookie of the Year honors, was named First Team All-MAWPC, and garnered All-American recognition.
He continued his standout play during the 2021–22 campaign, earning Second Team All-MAWPC honors while setting the program record with more than 100 goals in a single season, cementing himself as one of the most prolific scorers in program history.
O'Donnell later transitioned to the Big West Conference, where he helped his program capture a Big West Championship during the 2024–25 season and earned Second Team All-Big West honors in 2025–26.
Beyond the collegiate level, O'Donnell has represented his country on the international stage as a member of the Senior Canadian National Team since the summer of 2022. His international experience includes competing in two World Championships, the 2023 Pan American Games, and the 2026 World Cup.
