Rustlers open the 2013 season at home with a 5-2 win over El Camino

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Rustlers open the 2013 season at home against El Camino, and women's softball team started the season with a 5-2 victory.
El Camino (0-1) took an early lead, scoring twice in the first inning, but that was all the Rustlers would allow. Golden West (1-0) picked up the offense in the second inning when Sarah Craig put Golden West on the board, scoring on a single by Kiley Eskridge.
In the bottom of the third, Marissa (Missy) Gilbuena hit the first homerun for the Rustlers 2013 season and tied the game 2-2. Eskridge crossed home plate thanks to Moriah Simpson's RBI-double in the bottom of the fourth, putting the Rustlers in front 3-2.
Rustler's Jessica Llamas sealed the Warrior's fate with a homerun in bottom of the fourth expanding the lead to 5-2.
Golden West looks to stay on top as they face Grossmont on Wednesday January 30th.
