Rustlers Roll at Home with Doubleheader Sweep of Cuesta College
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The Golden West College beach volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on Friday, sweeping a home doubleheader against Cuesta College with decisive 5–0 and 4–1 victories at the GWC Beach Volleyball Complex.
The Rustlers controlled the sand from start to finish in both matches, showcasing depth across the lineup and consistency at every flight.
Match 1: Golden West 5, Cuesta 0
Golden West opened the day with a clean sweep, winning all five pairs matches in straight sets or decisive three-set finishes.

No. 1 Pair: Maren Matthews / Megan Freck set the tone with a straight-set win, 21-13, 21-10, over Brown/Hesch.

No. 2 Pair: Jenna Zaffino / Mackenzie Dorney followed with a 21-10, 21-11 victory against Cuadros/Trimble.

No. 3 Pair: Jalissa Costa / Pearl Miller earned a three-set win, 21-9, 15-21, 15-8, over Poeter/Holland.

No. 4 Pair: Cassandra Zoellers / Sorel Buley secured a straight-set victory, 21-18, 21-10, against McDermont/Bolton.

No. 5 Pair: Emalee Alton / Annalee Smith closed the sweep with a 21-16, 21-10 win over Snedden/Hendrickson.
Match 2: Golden West 4, Cuesta 1
The Rustlers carried their momentum into the second match, taking four of five pairs to secure the win.

No. 1 Pair: Matthews / Freck continued their strong day with a 21-10, 21-11 win over Cuadros/Hesch.

No. 2 Pair: Zaffino / Dorney remained unbeaten on the day, earning a 21-16, 21-11 victory against Brown/Trimble.

No. 3 Pair: Costa / Miller picked up another straight-set win, 21-14, 21-17, over Poeter/Holland.

No. 4 Pair: Zoellers / Buley delivered the clinching point with a 21-16, 21-10 victory against McDermont/Bolton.

No. 5 Pair: Cuesta earned its lone point as Snedden/Hendrickson 19-21, 21-17, 9-15 defeated Nicki Larisoa / Paige Blakely in three sets.
With the pair of home victories, Golden West improves to 4-0 and will take a week off before heading back into action against Cal State LA and Cerritos at Irvine Valley College.
