Golden West's (6-1-1, 3-0) Faith Ells netted her first goal of the season in the 84th minute to beat the Pirates in an action packed 3-2 match. Three goals were netted in the matches first 10 minutes. OCC scored their first goal two minutes into play, but the Rustlers Breanna Sandoval responded two minutes later with a floating kick just overthe reach of the goalkeeper. Then Sandoval used a free kick to assist on a goal headed in by Cindy Ramirez to take a 2-1 lead.
After the crazy first ten minutes, both teams settled down and struggled to control the possession of the ball to attack. Orange Coast made a halftime adjustment and scored early in the second half to tie the game at 2-2.
Both teams again traded some scoring opportunites before Ells timely goal in the 84th minute that led the Rustlers to victory.
