Huntington Beach, Calif. — The Golden West College women's soccer team extended its undefeated start to the 2025 season with a commanding 6-0 victory over LA Harbor College Friday afternoon at the Rustlers Soccer Field. With the win, Golden West improves to 4-0 overall, while the Seahawks fall to 1-3.
The Rustlers struck early and never looked back, scoring three times in the opening half. Freshman midfielder Jocelyn Heredia opened the scoring in the 22nd minute off an assist from Sarah Aguilar. Just 10 minutes later, defender Mia Hillman doubled the lead on a feed from Heredia, before sophomore midfielder Kaylee Gomez buried her first of the afternoon in the 36th minute off a setup from Ari Ramos.
Gomez carried that momentum into the second half, completing her hat trick with goals in the 49th and 79th minutes. Her final two tallies were assisted by Alexandra Ortenzo and Amari Webb. Freshman forward Jocelyn Orellana capped the scoring in the 89th minute, converting a pass from Ramos to seal the 6-0 win.
Golden West finished with a 13-0 shot advantage and seven corner kicks, while the defense kept LA Harbor without a single attempt on goal. Goalkeepers Tessa Wenzel and Mia Cook split time in net, combining for the team's fourth consecutive shutout to begin the season.
