Four Rustlers Earn 2025 All-Orange Empire Conference Women’s Volleyball Honors
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Golden West College women's volleyball was well represented when the 2025 All-Orange Empire Conference (OEC) teams were announced, as four Rustlers earned conference recognition following a standout season.
Jenna Zaffino and Jalissa Costa were named First Team All-OEC, while Cassandra Zoellers and Meghan Freck earned Second Team honors. Golden West concluded the year with a 19-5 overall record and a 13-3 mark in conference play, advancing to the third round of the 3C2A playoffs.
First Team All-OEC
Jenna Zaffino – Outside Hitter
Zaffino delivered a dominant and consistent season on the pins, ranking among the team leaders in nearly every offensive category. She finished the year with 264 kills (3.43 per set) on a .220 hitting percentage, while adding 27 service aces, 225 digs, and 296.5 total points. Her ability to score in transition and anchor the back row made her one of the conference's most complete six-rotation players.
Jalissa Costa – Outside Hitter
Costa emerged as the Rustlers' primary offensive weapon, leading the team with 288 kills (3.79 per set) and 346.5 total points. She also contributed heavily on defense with 186 digs and added 46 service aces, ranking among the conference leaders. Costa's power, durability, and all-around production earned her a spot on the First Team after playing in all 23 matches.
Second Team All-OEC
Cassandra Zoellers – Setter
Zoellers orchestrated the Rustlers' offense throughout the season, posting 387 assists (5.03 per set) while helping Golden West hit .188 as a team. She added 31 service aces, 134 digs, and consistent defensive effort, serving as the catalyst behind a balanced attack that averaged 10.99 kills per set.
Meghan Freck – Setter/Opposite
Freck provided versatility and stability in the lineup, appearing in all 23 matches. She tallied 331 assists (4.30 per set), 48 kills, 26 service aces, and 163 digs, contributing on both sides of the ball. Her leadership and adaptability were key factors in Golden West's success during conference and postseason play.
